[00:11.52]But Donald Trump's wealth sank during his first year [00:16.56]as president of the United States. [00:20.52]Those are just two findings from Forbes magazine's latest report [00:26.64]on the wealth of the world's richest people. [00:31.44]The report, released on Tuesday, [00:34.72]says the world now has 2,208 billionaires. [00:41.84]They have a combined wealth of $9.1 trillion, [00:48.04]an increase of 18 percent compared to one year earlier. [00:55.68]Forbes says Jeff Bezos is now the richest person on the planet. [01:03.08]Most of his wealth comes from shares of stock in Amazon, [01:08.28]the e-commerce company. [01:10.64]Amazon shares rose 59 percent during the past year. [01:17.32]As of February 9, 2018, Bezos' wealth stood at $112 billion, [01:27.64]up from about $73 billion last year. [01:34.36]The increase was enough to overtake American Bill Gates, [01:39.52]who helped to set up Microsoft Corporation. [01:44.60]Gates finished second on Forbes' list with $90 billion. [01:51.72]Another American -- businessman and investor Warren Buffett [01:57.20]-- is now in third place, with $84 billion. [02:03.80]Both Gates, age 62, and Buffett, 87, [02:09.64]have said they plan to give away most of their wealth [02:14.12]while Bezos, 54, has not said much. [02:19.12]The fourth richest person is Bernard Arnault of France. [02:25.04]He owns the luxury goods company LVMH. [02:30.76]His wealth is valued at $72 billion. [02:36.72]Most of the top 20 billionaires on the list have ties to technology companies. [02:44.56]They include Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Larry Ellison of Oracle, [02:52.12]as well as Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google. [02:57.64]Two businessmen from China made Forbes' top 20 for the first time. [03:03.76]Ma Huateng of Tencent is in 17th place with $45.3 billion. [03:13.12]Jack Ma of Alibaba is in 20th place with $39 billion. [03:21.88]The world's youngest billionaire is Alexandra Andresen of Norway. [03:28.92]She is 21 years old. [03:32.52]Her wealth of $1.4 billion came from a family-owned investment company. [03:41.76]At the age of 99, Chang Yun Chung of Singapore is the world's oldest billionaire. [03:50.80]He founded an international shipping company with two second-hand vessels. [03:58.44]He is now worth $1.9 billion, and the company has a fleet of 155 vessels. [04:09.92]There are 259 new faces in the latest list of billionaires. [04:17.16]China has the most new faces with 89. [04:22.48]The United States is next with 18. [04:27.44]But the U.S. still has more billionaires than any country: 585, in all. [04:37.07]And greater China, including the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, has 476. [04:49.68]Most of the world's billionaires added to their wealth last year because of rising stock markets. [04:57.72]But the magazine noted that President Donald Trump's wealth [05:02.76]actually dropped about $400 million, to $3.1 billion, during his first year in office. [05:13.84]The decline left him as the world's 766th richest person, [05:21.16]down from 544 on Forbes' list last year. [05:27.70]I'm Dorothy Gundy. [05:30.24]更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
